Dr. O’Brien’s journey to audiology is one of resilience and purpose. At 40 years old, after raising her family and running a small business, she fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming an audiologist, driven by personal experiences with her own children’s hearing and speech challenges. Her faith and determination carried her through years of rigorous training, culminating in a doctorate in audiology and the founding of her first practice. What began as a single part-time clinic quickly grew into a network of 10 thriving audiology centers across three states, each offering state-of-the-art hearing, balance, and tinnitus care.
As the founder of Atlantic Hearing, Balance & Tinnitus Center and the Global Hearing Services hearing conservation company, Dr. O’Brien has continuously pushed boundaries to improve accessibility and care. Her innovative programs, such as integrating vestibular (balance) care into private practice and designing hearing conservation strategies for industries like Delta Global Services, reflect her forward-thinking approach to preventing hearing loss and balance disorders.
Dr. O’Brien’s impact extends far beyond the clinic. She is the author of Hearing Loss Solutions, the most comprehensive guide available on hearing, balance, and tinnitus. Drawing from over a decade of patient care, she answers frequently asked and “should ask” questions, empowering readers with knowledge to make informed decisions about their hearing health. Dr. O’Brien is also the co-author of Once Upon a Time: A Tale of Twin Discoveries, a children’s book designed to inspire awareness about hearing and balance health.
